No dia 27 de junho de 2024, o Agrupamento de Escolas do Fundão (AEF) voltou a ser palco de uma vibrante celebração da diversidade cultural. A III Edição do Lanche Multicultural, organizada em parceria com o Centro Qualifica e as turmas de Português Língua de Acolhimento (PLA), reuniu quase 200 pessoas numa festa que celebrou a união através da gastronomia, das artes e da cultura.
Celebrating Diversity: The III Edition of the Multicultural Snack at Agrupamento de Escolas do Fundão
Fundão has established itself as a Land of Welcome, and the Agrupamento de Escolas do Fundão (AEF) stands out on this path as a true beacon of cultural integration. AEF's commitment to embracing and celebrating diversity animates the daily activities, being one of the pillars of the educational community.
In this inclusive environment, the AEF’s Centro Qualifica has been playing an essential role. Beyond teaching Portuguese as a welcoming language, Centro Qualifica has transformed itself into an agent of social transformation, promoting cultural integration through various initiatives. One of these initiatives is the Multicultural Snack, whose III Edition took place on June 27, at the AEF’s canteen.
The event involved the 11 PLA (Portuguese as a Welcoming Language) classes, teachers, trainers, Centro Qualifica staff, the school library, the coordinator of the "Welcome to School" Club, the Professional Course for Psychosocial Support Technicians (APS21), the Fundão Migration Center, and members of the AEF’s General Council. In total, nearly 200 people participated in a rich moment of sharing the various geographies of the planet.
The diversity of nationalities present was impressive: England, France, Ukraine, Georgia, Ireland, Czechia, Turkey; from Cameroon, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Guinea, South Africa, Canada, USA, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, El Salvador, Colombia; Myanmar, Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, and India. Each of these cultures contributed with unique flavors and artistic expressions that enriched the event.
In addition to the colorful and varied gastronomy, the Multicultural Snack was a celebration of music, poetry, literature, painting, and multimedia skills. The Portuguese language served as an unifying factor, bringing migrants and the local community together on a journey through the flavors and artistic expressions of the world.
The success of this event is also due to the support of local welcoming organizations, which reinforced AEF’s commitment to inclusion and diversity. The Multicultural Snack was more than a simple gastronomic gathering; it was a celebration of the multiculturalism that enriches our lives daily and strengthens the emotional connections that unite our community.
